What sets Epic Vision Center apart is our ability to offer both optometric and ophthalmic care, making us a one stop shop for all your eye care needs. We have proudly served the Northwest community for over 10 years, always ensuring the best eye care for all of our patients.

Optometric care focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of common vision problems and the prescription of glasses and contact lenses, while ophthalmic care involves the medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases and conditions. Our team includes two skilled optometrists, Dr. Nancy Guzman, OD, and Dr. Susanne Jones, OD, alongside our experienced ophthalmologist, Dr. Barbara Ku, MD.

As one of three locations throughout San Antonio, we also feature a dedicated LASER Eye Center on 1604 and two surgery centers—one in downtown San Antonio and another conveniently located off I-10 and Horizon Hill near the medical center. Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Nancy Guzman, OD

Dr. Nancy Guzman is one of our optometrists here at Epic Vision Center, where she is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to the San Antonio community. She also serves as the Clinical Director for TLC San Antonio. Dr. Guzman earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio and her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry.

Dr. Guzman offers comprehensive visual care that included thorough pre- and post-operative management for LASIK and cataract surgeries. She has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing various ocular diseases, ensuring that her patients receive the highest quality of care. As a passionate advocate for eye health, Dr. Guzman is committed to enhancing the vision and well-being of her patients.

Dr. Suzanne Jones, OD

Dr. Suzanne Jones is a dedicated Therapeutic and Behavioral Doctor of Optometry, bringing over 18 years of valuable experience in both private and commercial practice. Dr. Jones pursued her academic journey with a Bachelor of Science degree from Kentucky State University in 2000, followed by her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University in 2006.

Dr. Jones' unwavering passion for optometry and a deep commitment to helping others achieve success led her to specializing in specialty contact lenses and vision therapy. Through this innovative approach, Dr. Jones has transformed the lives of many individuals facing challenges such as corneal diseases, learning difficulties, reading comprehension issues, recovery from traumatic brain injuries, and enhanced participation in sports. As an esteemed member of several professional organizations, including the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, the International Sports Vision Association, and Prevent Blindness Texas, Dr. Jones is at the forefront of advancements in her field. She has also served as a Key Opinion Leader for Bausch & Lomb, where she traveled across the nation to educate fellow doctors on the company's leading product lines.

Outside of Dr Jones' professional commitments, she enjoys an active lifestyle filled with travel, gardening, and watching her children play sports. She is also deeply involved in her church community and cherishes quality time spent with her husband, Greg, and their two children, Aiden and Narin. Dr. Suzanne Jones continues to make a significant impact in the world of optometry while balancing her professional and personal life with grace and enthusiasm.

Dr. Barbara Ku, MD

Dr. Barbara Ku is a board-certified Cataract Surgeon with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care. She completed her medical education at Texas Tech Health Science Center, where she developed a solid foundation in medicine. Following this, she pursued her internal medicine internship and ophthalmology internship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Jones Eye Institute, gaining extensive hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of eye conditions.

Driven by her passion for improving patients' quality of life, Dr. Ku specializes in cataract surgery, a procedure she views as a transformative opportunity for her patients. She takes great pride in guiding individuals through their surgical journeys, ensuring they feel informed and supported at every step. Her dedication to advancing her skills is evident in her commitment to ongoing education and adopting the latest techniques in cataract surgery, ultimately striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. Dr. Ku believes that restoring vision not only enhances her patients' sight but also their overall well-being, and she approaches each case with compassion and expertise.
